About:Visa Policy of China

should I renew Mainland Entry Permit or apply for visiting visa?

I got Mainland Entry Permit which was expired. I am HK citizen and holding US passport. Now, I live in US.
Plan to visit China in Oct.

Ellen, as you hold US passport, you should apply for a Chinese visa.
