Tourist visa application from Prague

Hello, I am a UK citizen who is currently working and living in prague. I want to visit Shanghai in July and am planning to submit an application for a tourist type. I have flights booked but not a hotel yet. Do I need to do that before I can apply for the tourist type? What is the cost of the application? Thank you

Gill, if you cannot provide an invitation letter from China, then you should book hotels first and then submit the application. I remember that the cost for a single entry type is 30 Euros, but am not sure whether it has changed. You can confirm this with the consular office.
