What visa should I apply for? I am wanting to live with my partner in Shanghai.

She already has a job and Z type. I will also be wanting to work but if I do not find a job before I go I will have to continue looking once I am there. My question is if I enter on a tourist type will it affect my ability to gain a similar work type to the one she has? Will I have to leave then re-enter the country?
