U.S. citizen in Denmark applying for Chinese Visa

I will be interning in Copenhagen for 8 weeks this summer and then must go to Beijing for a conference right after. I don't have time to get back in the U.S. Since I leave for Denmark tomorrow. Is it possible for me to apply for a Chinese F type in Denmark even though I am an American citizen and not studying abroad?
