About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Do I have to terminate or change my current residense permit If I resign from my job?

I am currently leaving my job and going to apply for student's visa X1 in next couple of month, but before that I need at least one month before I go back my country to renew my visa. Can I just keep my current working temporary residence permit or I will have to change it to other type ?

Martin, if your employer doesn't threat that he will report you to local police station, then you can still stay with your current Z type. However, many people go to local entry and exit management bureau to apply for L types if they plan to stay longer. If your employer has no intention to help you, then you should apply for a L type from the bureau.

No, but as they said they had to report to labor office and give them my working permit (brown book) back to that office.

Yes, they are required to report to labor office, but your residence permit may still be valid if the labor office does not inform the local exit and entry administration office.
