About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Obtaining Residence Permit once in China on a Z working visa.

I will be applying for a Z type soon in Melbourne. I intend to go to China to meet my employer and clients for two weeks at the end of June 2015. I understand i will need to apply for a residence permit before I leave China as I intend to go back mid-August to start work on a two year contract.
Will I be able to obtain my resident permit in two weeks.

Lakshmi, I'm afraid you cannot get it within two weeks. Approximately one month shall be needed for the processing. If you have to leave after two weeks, I suggest you apply for an M type this time. Then you should use the M type to enter China. After you return back to Australia, apply for the Z type at that time.
