About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

obtaining chinese visa

Hi! I just submitted my application and am due to pick it up tomorrow. having read so much about needing the ARC, I would just like to confirm that they did not ask for it at all. In fact, prior to arriving in South Korea, I asked my Korean friend to ring the embassy and confirm several queries for me, primarily regarding the ARC. My friend was told it was not necessary. I supplied my passport, hotel reservations covering my stay (hypothetical), application which can be filled in that morning and by hand (I had read it MUST be typed on the computer!) and flights into and out of China. Got there at 9am and left at 9.10. I hope this helps. I know not all circumstances are the same but this was certainly far more straightforward than I had anticipated having researched websites and forums for hours!!

Hey Buddy! Thank you so much for your information. I know that the application form can be written by hand or typed on computer, but I have been bothered with the ARC issue. Your answer helped me a lot! By the way, if the ARC card is not submitted, what document do you provide to prove your legal stay status in Korea?
