About:China Visa Exemption

Sydney - Beijing - Madrid

Hi,

I'm travelling from Sydney to Madrid with a 19h layover in Beijing and was hoping I could get out of the airport and see Beijing and then come back. Do I need a visa for this, or am I eligible for the 72h free transit? Algo, does the luggage go though to the final destination?

Thanks,
Diana

Diana, as you qualify for the 72-hour free transit policy, you do not need the transit permit. In addition, you can go out of the airport and have some sightseeing activities.

As for your luggage, you should consult this with your airline. You know, the situation is different in different airlines.
