What is the status on the Jinshanling to Simatai hike? Still closed or now open?

Is it still not possible to hike from one to another along the wall?
Also - is Si ma tai now all kitsch and rebuilt "renovated"?

It is still closed. Sorry for that:(
About Si ma tai, they renovated some sections based on the original ones (10 watch towers and wall between them). I personally think they did a good job. So worry, the wall is not kitsch at all.
