l type to z-type

Question

Hi, I'd like to find out, if I enter China on a L-Type visa and find a job. Do I have to:1) go back to my home country and then return for the Z- type to take effect or2) exit to any country3) not need to exit, the Z-type willl be converted when the new employers apply for my work permit. Jane, generally speaking, you can change the L type into Z type within mainland. I suggest you first try to do so at the local exit and entry adminstration bureau. If it is true that you cannot do so, you have to exit and apply for the Z type. It’s hard to say whether your application at any other country can be accepted. I would suggest you going back to your home country and apply for the Z type.
