Tour suggestions to visit Huangshan City, HongCun, and Xi Di

I am an independent traveler. I plan to fly from Guangzhou to Huangshan City June 19 and fly from Huangshan City to Shanghai June 21. I am interested in visiting Mount Huangshan and the UNESCO Heritage Sites, HongCun and Xi Di.
QUESTION: Should I consider arranging for a guided tour to be certain to meet my schedule OR is this doable without a guide?? If possible without a guide, I would welcome any suggestions for a plan. I would like to make my hotel/flight reservations in and out of Huangshan City as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Karen

Many inbound tourists visit the mountain on their own and it's OK. But be prepared that people there hardly speak English, so you should better make a very well travel plan. If you are not so confident in independent travel, of course you can join a tour and this is an itinerary for reference: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/package/huangshantour1.htm

Some suggestions if you will travel on your own:
day 1: Upon arrival, have a stroll in the Tunxi Anceint Street and live there;
day 2: Get up as early as you can and start climbing the mountain;
day 3: The two ancient villages you've mentioned.
