About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We travel from Hong Kong to Beijing. How do we get a VISA? What can we do at late stage?

We thought we could get the 72 hour free transit as the example above uses Hong Kong as an example although we now feel we wont get it. We are travelling for less than 72 hours HK-Beijing and back (with no other connections) but hoping to return.

Then you may visit the office of the commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC in HK and see if you can apply for an urgent L type. Or you can try to ask the local travel agency to help you apply one before you go.

You could fly from Hong Kong to Beijing and then back from Beijing to Macau instead of to Hong Kong. That should qualify for TWOV and it's easy to take the ferry from Macau back to Hong Kong.
