About:China Transit Visa

Do I really need a transit visa if I will stay at airport for less than 24 hours?

I am Baikuntha Nath Sahu- an Indian passport holder going to USA. I have to stay at Kunming for 2hrs & at sanghai for 5 hours. I have both onward & return travel ticket with me & also I am having the US entry permit with me.
1.Do I need a transit one?
2.Change in transit point at airport is showing by online sites. So transit one require.
