Will I be reunited with my rabbit or should I move on since it's unclear if I will see him again

I (pig) was kinda seeing this guy (rabbit), who captured my heart after two months. I left him to study abroad, but he is graduating while I am gone. So when I go back in August, he might not be there since he is thinking of moving to another state. We agreed to be friends when I was leaving, but it has not even worked and we stopped talking, and to be honest, we were both bitter, but at the same, we were respectful when we agreed to just move on with life. But I miss him so terribly and I hope I can see him again. I have dated before, but even though my time with him was short, I really enjoyed his company more than anyone else. I have tried to see other people in the past couple of months, but all I think about is him. Should I let go and give love another chance with another person or not give up on him? Thank you
