If a company revokes the work permit, how long can the worker stay in PRC?

We have a worker in PRC on a Z type and now are considering removing him from this position. I would like to know how long he can stay in PRC after we revoke his work permit. He is also married to a Chinese national who resides in PRC.

Robert, theoretically, he can stay until is temporary resident permit expires. For you, you can ask him to go to local entry and exit management bureau to change his resident permit for employment to another one, Q1 type.
