About:Jinshanling Great Wall

From Beijing Airport to Jinshanling (or Simatai)

I will arrive very early at Beijing airport (about 6:30 a.m.). do I have to go into town to catch a bus or is this not necessary and I can go direct from the airport?
How much is the Hotel in JSL, is there more than one option? And what about SMT? are there also enough places to stay outside of the water town (which I don't need to see). Thanks.

Karl, there is no direct bus from the airport to the wall. You can take airport express to reach Dongzhimen, get out from Exit E and then walk to Dongzhimen Transportation Hub to take no.980 bus (Express) to to Miyun West Bridge Station and change Bus Line Mi 38 or 51. Or you can share a local minivan with other travelers.

I personally think that you may stay for a night in the water town. You know, the accomodation conditions are very simple. If you don't want to stay there, then you need to find a farm house instead.
