About:Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Gorge)

Planning to go Lijiang to Shangril la in early May from Kumming.

Is it best to start from shangrila and travel down or go to Tiger Gorge Shangrila. Intent to take public transport train bus taxi. About 8 days for this trip.Pls someone can help with the itnerary. thank you margaret

Yeah, to go to TLG, it is nearer from Shangrila. You can take a bus from Shangrila Long-distance Bus Station to Hutiaoxia Town. Then take a taxi or car to the gorge directly.

Here is my sugegstion for your itinerary:
Day 1: LJ Old Town; Mu’s Residence;
Day 2: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain;
Day 3: Shuhe Ancient Town; Lashi Lake;
Day 4: Lugu Lake;
Day 5: going to Shangri-la; Songzanlin Monastery;
Day 6-7: TLG and White Water Terrace;
Day 8: Pudacuo National Park & Bitahai Lake
