About:Chinese Names

In prospecting for Real Estate I have come across many names for which I am unsure of how to address

For instance, Nam Seung Hyuan is how this name appears in public records. Should I address this person as Dear Nam Seung Hyuan or Dear Seung Hyuan Nam, and is the first name Nam Seung, or Seung Hyuan. Also, in person or on the phone do I say hello Mr. Nam Seung Hyuan or Mrs., or again should it be Mr./Mrs. Seung Hyuan Nam.

This is totally confusing to me, and I do not want to appear as disrespectful and wish not to be ignorant either.

Vonda, the name you mentioned seems to be a South Korean name. Nam is the family name. Seung Hyuan should be the first name/given name. I can't tell whether it's a man or woman's name. So you can address Mr./Mrs/Miss Nam.

Maxedonia is right. This is not a Chinese name and Nam is the last name. Since Korean and Chinese were originally the same people, both peoples still have the same Chinese written characters (with difference pronunciation). Same as Chinese names, Korean names typically have two character given names. To avoid confusion, they usually put a "-" between the two characters of the given name as "Seung-Hyuan" or "Seunghyuan".
There is no way to tell a man's name from a woman's name for its English translation (pronunciation only). Since you don't know if he/she is married or not, you can also address "Mr./Ms. Nam".
