need a longer visa! only been issued with 30 days.

Question

Can anyone help? I just got a call from the embassy saying they can only issue me with a 30 day tourist type. Am I able to reapply as I am studying kung fu there for over two months and my flights are already booked. Can I resubmit for longer time. or reapply as a student for 180 days. not sure what to do.Thanks Martine

Hi Martine, did you apply for the study type or the tourist type? I assume that if you want to study in PRC, you should acquire a study type entry permit. So I’m wondering why the embassy issues you the tourist type. Anyway, if you plan to stay for more than two months, you have to reapply for a student type by providing the admission letter and JW 201 or 202 form obtained with the help of your school.
