About:Wuxi Ancient Kilns Relics Museum

travel visa & x1 type

Received an offer to study in Beijing, I know that X1 type holder have to apply for a temporary residence permit within 30 days upon entry into China, applying for this I need documents issued by the school after registration. Just wondering what if I want to go earlier to familiarise myself with the city, can I first apply a travel entry permit, then before the registration day change it to a X1 type in China?

Len, it's possible to change the tourist L type into an X1 type, but there is not 100 percent chance that you can do it successfully. If you fail to do it, you have to go back and apply for the X1 type. Therefore, I suggest you directly apply for an X1 type at your home country. Before the school starts, you have time to familiarise yourself with the city.
