Hi Anna! Proof of legal stay is only required when you are applying from a third country. It is used to show that you are legally staying in the country. The proof can be your visa for this country or your residence permit, work certificae, study certificate, etc. However, if you are applying in your home country, then it is not required. Your passport will be enough.

If the 3. country doesn't require visa, is passport enough as the proof of legal stay?
