About:Embassy & Consulates of South Korea in China

Visiting S. Korea as a student for holidays.

Greetings Sir/Ma,
My pleasure writing this to you, i am an African student studying in Zhejiang province Hangzhou, and i'm about to make a short visit to South Korea for my summer holidays. I wish to ask for the types of documents i need to provide to the embassy and if i need a bank statement together with my application documents, and also the approrate time that is convinient for me to apply as well. Thank you

Hi, generally speaking, as a citizen from a third country, you need to submit your passport, an application form, a recent photo, and the photocopy of your residence permit in Zhejiang to the Shanghai consulate. The bank statement is not required as you are a student. The application process takes five working days and the validity of short visit entry permit is normally three months, so I suggest you apply for one month in advance.

Hello Alexander,
I wish to ask again if i may submit the documents you listed directed by myself to the Korean consulate at Shanghai,or there are some accredited travelling agencies that i need to pass through them before submiting my documents.That is i mean if there is any third party agency that i will first submit my documents to them before submiting it to the Korean consulate in Shanghai.

Hi, you can submit the listed documents to the consulate at Shanghai by yourself. You don't need to do the application through third party agencies. :)
