About:Former Residence of Lu Shaoxu

Extension of Z-visa

I am the legal representative of a company here in China. The company is registered in Beijing. Currently I have two years Z type which expires in August. I have moved to Guangzhou. Do I need to go to BJ to renew my Z type or can it be done in Guangzhou? What documents are needed?

Dan, based on my knowledge, you should first get a certificate from Beijing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau for transferring your work permit from Beijing to Guangzhou. Then you should take the certificate and go to the Guangzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau to apply for a new work permit.

You may need the following documents: 1. a release letter from your company branch in Beijing and the certificate for transferring work permit; 2. an application form; 3. a statement from the branch in Guangzhou; 4. a photocopy of your company’s business license; 5. a photocopy of your passport’s data page and the page carrying your current Z type; 6. an alien employment registration form affixed with a recent bare-headed photo; 7. labor contract; 8. a photocopy of the registration form of temporary residence, and 9. Photocopies of your education background and professional qualification certificate.
