Do you think we will make it in time? It's our only chance to see it on the way back to the US. But I hear gettong out of customs can take an hour. Best after clearing customs to get a cab or subway?

Yes, you can make it. The tower will be open till 23:00. You can take the subway line 3 from the airport to the Tower. The fare is CNY8 and the travel time is about 50 mins. Also, going out of customs won't take that long, at most 20 minutes. Don’t worry, you can do it.
