Hi Mike!
1. You may need to apply for a S2 type. Apart from your passport, passport copy, application form, recent photo, you may also be required to submit: an invitation letter or medical certificate issued by a Chinese hospital, flight tickets orders, and bank deposit certificate.
2. You had better apply for it before your travel, just in case that you can’t apply from mainland PRC.
3. You should pay attention to the stay duration granted by your entry permit, and do not overstay.
