Need information about re-entering China on Z type

Hi,
My employer applied for Employment License for me. It has been approved and I have received EL and Visa Notification. My passport has been stamped with Z type (single entry).

I will be travelling to China for 1 week on 12 -April and then returning back to India. I need to travel again in 3rd or 4th week of May.

Considering that Work Permit and Residence Permit process will not complete in a week’s time during my 1st visit could you please let me know if I will need to apply for EL and VN again or what is the best possible way to travel again on Z type in 3rd or 4th week of May? Thanks

Prashant, is it possible that you stay until your Z type changes into temporary resident permit? If so, you save many troubles. If you can't, you need to reapply or the Z type again after you get back to India.

Thanks Patrick for your response.

It will not be possible for me to stay back beyond 1 week and I'll need to return to India.

I'll need to re-apply for Employment License or the previously held EL will remain valid and I'll just need to get Z-type stamped again in my passport ?

Prashant, if you don’t have very urgent affairs, I think the best solution would be going to China in May, converting the Z type into a temporary residence permit. And then with the residence permit, you can travel back and forth to China. However, if you do want to go in April, then you have to apply for a new Z type after your travel. The validity of EL is usually six months. As long as it keeps valid, you can apply for the Z type with it again.
