About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, I'm flying from Chicago to Hong Kong (Layover in Seattle) then from Guangzhou to Seoul.

I'm a US citizen spending a total of 7 days in China with my time split between Hong Kong, Macao and Guangzhou. If I spend 4 days in Hong Kong where I don't require a Visa, then take a train or a bus to Guangzhou for the remaining 72 hours, can I use the 72 hour free transit?

Andrew, the 72-hour transit permit waiver policy is only available for air passengers, so I'm afriad you can't use it. If you want to use it, you should go from Hong Kong to Guangzhou by air.
