first time china visa

Question

I am residing in Taiwan,  for first time travelling to china, I am being told by agent that tourist type must be applied from Home country i.e India and can not apply anymore from Hong Kong. I also would like to know for apply S type(for foreigners with Z type) for family people. can it be applied from Hong kong or still need to be applied from home country (india)?

Prakash, the agent was right. The applicants who try to apply in HK are required to provide their HK resident status. So you should go back to India to apply for L or S type.
