Navigating the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Border: Advice for First-Time Travelers

Hello,

I'm seeking advice on crossing the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. I plan to travel to Hong Kong this September and then cross into Shenzhen. I'm Vietnamese and have obtained visas for both Hong Kong and China.

I'm curious about the customs procedure at the Shenzhen border gate. Is it challenging, or is it more straightforward than airport immigration? This will be my first time traveling to China.

Additionally, could you recommend which border crossing tends to be less crowded? I'm concerned about long queues. I intend to use either the MTR or the HSR to Shenzhen, so I'm considering crossings at Lo Wu Station, Lok Ma Chau Station, or Futian Railway Station.

Thank you for your assistance.

The procedures are basically the same as at the airport. Don't worry, just follow the signboards and ask the border if you have any question.
Futian or Huanggang (Lok Ma Chau in HK) Port are less crowded and Huanggang opens 24 hours.
