I would like to purchase Hong Kong Airport Express ticket for my family, 4 adults and 1 child.

we arrive on HK on Saturday night and would like to use the MTR to get to the hotel. does the card get activated on the first airport transfer journey? or the first journey excluding the airport transfer?
