hi, what would be the most direct route to travel from shanghai city centre to xitang?

I will be travelling to Shanghai in April and want to go to XT. Also, I am more interested in riding down the canals and seeing the night view. Is it possible to do this one one day or would I have to stay over night? Thank you so much!

You can take bus from SH General Long Distance Bus Station. About twelve buses are available from 07:20 to 18:30. The ticket fare is CNY37. As you are interested in the night view, it's better to stay one night there.
