About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hours visa free transit clarification please

I just want to be sure that I understand the 72h correctly before I book my tickets - if I arrive at 11pm in Shanghai on Friday night, it will be okay for me to take a flight out from Shanghai at 11pm on Monday night?

Samantha, in different cities, the definition for the "72 hours" are different. For example, in Guangzhou and Chengdu, the 72 hours start from the midnight after passengers' arrival. So I suggest you check it with the Shanghai Immigration Authorities or your airline. If it is the same case in Shanghai, you can stay longer and the lastest time for you to go out is 11:59 pm on Monday.
