About:Transfer in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

I am traveling from CNX to SFO and have a 8 hour layover in Beijing

I arrive on Air China and leave on United Airlines. Do I need to go through Immigration and Customs and recheck baggage? Is there a VIP lounge for United available? I arrive at 4:00 am and would like a comfortable place to wait. I am flying out in First.

You don't need to recheck luggage. But the border inspection, immigration, security check, and custom inspection are needed.
There are ordinary lounges and business lounges in the airport. The contact hotline of business lounge in T3 is: 86 400-6708986, 86 01064532621. You are suggested to book in advance.

My 8 hour transfer was horrible. I arrived at 4:15 am and the transfer desk was closed. The first transfer desk said to find the other desk which was posted as closed until 5:30. The attendant was nearby sleeping and wanted to sleep an extra 10 minutes when approached at 5:30. Once the desk was finally staffed, I was told I couldn't get a boarding pass until 3 hours before the departure time. Clue for future travelers with greater than 3 hour transit time. Do NOT go outside security and immigration. I wound up leaving, hoping to get a boarding card at the main check in desk. However I was still limited to the 3 hour limit. I wandered the check in area, cold and not finding a place to sit. When I approached the information desk, they had little to offer but the standard line about 3 hour limit. Why? Why? Why? Had they given me a ballad card, I could have waited in a comfortable location. I hope to avoid this airport in future. It is cold, unfriendly and inefficient. I consider this to be my worst experience in an airport effort, surpassing the misery of Mumbai. My luggage did get transferred just fine. It is people that they really fail.
