About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 Hour Visa ok with Hong Kong?

Would I be able to get a 72 hour free transit if I was flying from Seoul - Beijing - Hong Kong - Seoul? If so, why? what's up with HK? technically isn't it part of China!?!?

Yes, your route is OK. It's no doubt that Hong Kong is a part of China. However, the immigration regulations and rules of HK are different from those of mainland China, so when it comes to the immigration affairs, HK is regarded as a third country.
