If you are now in China with the S1 type, it's possible to do so. If you have just got the S1, you can't change it to the Z type at the embassy but have to reapply for a Z type. After you get the Z type, your S1 type will become invalid automatically.

Can I get link or exact procedure and list of documents to convert S1 to Z visa.
I am currently in Shanghai on S1 visa. And I have job offer from Guangzhou and I want to convert my S1 to Z without leaving China.
Do I need to notarize my previous work experience and degree certificates {which are issued in my home country India} from Chinese embassy?

Hi there! You can try to find the relevant information at the official website of the exit and entry administration of the local public security bureau. Or you can contact with the exit and entry administration to inquire about that.
You need to notarize your degree certificates at the embassy of PRC in India.
