Getting chinese visa from america, how do i apply as a tourist and what are the requirement?

i am a Nigerian with an american permanent resident, i live and work here in the united state. i want to go to china for a business, but i don't have any company contact. i need to do the visibility studies on what to invest in when i arrive in PRC.
