About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

M visa change to temporary resident permit (wife is Chinese)

I have M type. Last year I married with a Chinese citizen. Mine will expire on April 02. 2015, duration of stay is 90 days. I want apply temporary resident permit but i dont know is possible. And I need take medical examination? What this examination include. I didnt bring any X-ray from my country. Or maybe is better I make 1/3 price one in my country with 1 year valdity? Less problem no need medical examination, 90 or 180 days duration of stay. What you suggest? I leave china almost every year 1-2 times to go my home country, and I have business in HK so every month I "shuttle" 2-3 times between HK and Mainland. I have own HK company, my job no need Z type. With the temporary resident permit I can get chinese ID card also?

Attila, is your M type a multi-entry one? If so, I suggest you try to change the M type into S1 type at the local Exit and Entry Administration Bureau, and then apply for the temporary residence permit with the S1 type. If the officer says you can do so, it’s OK. However, based on my experience, you can hardly get it. In other words, you may have to apply for an S1 type at your home country. Also, you can’t get Chinese ID card with the temporary resident permit.
