Dear Roshini,
I think you should apply for the S2. Because you wish to visit China for short time period.
Here the documents that you want to submit to the Embassy at Colombo-Vidya Road.

1.Actual passport and photocopy of the name page
2. Complete application Form
3. One recent passport size photograph.
4.An Invitation letter from the inviting person. ( Remember Colombo office ask the original one. they don't accept the e-mail or scanned one,)
5.Proof of kinship.
6.Letter of proofing his studentship from the university. (You should proof his studentship by giving some original document.)

I think you know well about our country's government office staff . so don't miss any letters that I mention above.
