About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Do I need a visa in case Im changing flights in Shanghai but not leaving the airport?

I am coming from New York to Shanghai and I will need to collect my luggages to change flight to Australia on the same day without leaving the airport.

Mauricio, as you are eligible for the 72 hour free transit policy, you don't need the transit type entry permit.
