About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transiting via Shanghai to Tokyo

My wife and I are visiting Tokyo but will be spending 3 nights (arrive at 3 pm and depart at 2 pm 3 nights later (under 72 hours)) in Shanghai before flying to Tokyo. This is part of the same itinerary.

We will be staying in an Air BnB in the FCC district in Shanghai and plan on enjoying the city while there.

Is it necessary to check in at the local police station?

Thank you
