planning to visit honk kong with my family

Question

Hi,im planing to visit honk with my family and i submitted my documents to the Chinese embassy but they requested me to courier the documents to Honk kong to my tour operator and requested him to process the visa,im totaly confused now as to why i have to courier the documents to Honk Kong.Can anyone help me on this

Perara, it's normal because the entry permits for mainland China and HK are different. The embassy mainly process entry permits for mainland. Even though it accepts your application, it is required to transfer the application to the HK Immigration Department. So I think you can just listen to the officer's advice.
