Is there any metro station close the Railway station? We living in a hotel close to Yuyuan Garden and wish to take day trip to Suzhou from the Railway Station. We are wondering is there any metro stop close by? Or should we just take taxi to the station (planning to depart from the hote around 7am to 7:30am), will there be traffic jam at that time?

Yes, the Railway Station metro station is very close to the train station. To reach there from where you are by metro, several transfers are needed. For an efficient trip, I suggest you take a taxi there directly in the morning. 07:00-07:30 will be during rush hours, so there may be traffic jam. If possible, I suggest you leave your hotel earlier.

Thanks Jane. It almost sounds like I should consider hongqiao railway station with direct line 10 even hongqiao railway station is further away from my hotel. Is that make sense? How long is the metro ride to hongqiao station from yu garden?

It seems yes, but the main railway station is much closer anyway. The metro line 10 from Yuyuan to Hongqiao Station takes at most 40min and the fee is CNY5.
