Proof of family relationship (birth certificate)

I come from China and I was Chinese citizen, now I become British passport holder. In 2013 April I applied Chinese visa to visit my parents. Now I have notice there is an additional documents for applying Q1 - proof of family relationship (birthday certificate). I was born in 1979, at that time birth certificate was not existed. All I can provide is the Chinese ID of my parents and their invitation letter to proof our relationship. I am worried. Any ideas? Please help!

Hi Yiwen! You can ask your parents to go to the local police station and request for a kinship certificate and send it to you, then you can apply for the Q1 type with the certificate.
