About:China Private Visit Visa

S1 / S2 or L Visa?

My wife and I are visiting our son who is teaching English for one year in Guangzhou, China. We will be there for one week in April 2015. While there, we also be doing some tourist activities and visiting Hong Kong. Should we apply for an S1 / S2 or L type entry permit?

Hi Bruce! An L type is fine for your planned visit. You can apply it by providing your valid passport, a photocopy of the passport, a completely filled application form with a recently taken bareheaded photo on it, and an invitation letter from your son. BTW, you do not need entry permit for Hong Kong if your stay there is not more than 90 days.
