About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would flying from Korea, staying in Beijing for less than 72 then Hong Kong back to Korea be OK?

Currently line in South Korea and would like to travel to Beijing on 72 hour visa then onto Hong Kong prior to returning to Korea. Would this be allowed?
