Obtaining a multiple entry L (Tourist) visa for China from the USA

Hello, I am in the process of obtaining a Z type as I am transferring out to Shanghai for a 1 year period with work. I had hoped to get my girlfriend (8 year relationship/living together) a domestic partner type, but I have recently found that China changed the rules to offer those only to domestic partners that share a biological child.

Instead I am now looking to see if getting a 1 year multiple entry L type is possible. We/She had plans to exit roughly every 60 or so days as it is. I am having trouble though determining if it is possible to:

A) Get a 1 year multi-entry L type
B) stay longer than 30 days on a L type

As it stands, we've been informed that the only option is a 30 day single stay one.

Thanks,

Devon, your girlfriend can apply for a 10 year L type now. Its duration of each stay is 60 days. The required documents and cost are the same.
