About:Passport

I change into new Passport before getting my Resident Permit.

I was admitted to study in China (Guangzhou) from March 2015 until January 2016. But my passport will be unvalid after December 2015. So I just made a new one, before I left for China. Unfortunately, my X1 Visa is already on the old passport.
Will it be possible for me to have the Resident Permit in my new passport if I bring the both passport at the PSB and explain the situation? It will be my first Resident Permit.

Thank you for your answer.

I'm not sure whether you can enter China by bringing your two passports. If your personal information is exactlly the same in the two passports, maybe it's possible to enter China and apply for the residence permit. In fact, you should not have applied for the new passport. You should have applied for it after entering China.
