About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong - Beijing - Singapore - Hong Kong, 4th countries?

I understand a trip that originates in Hong Kong and goes to Beijing and later to Singapore (within 72 hours) is acceptable for the free visa. However, is it still okay to then go from Singapore to Hong Kong? That is technically a 4th country.

No problem, it's OK for the free transit, because your route via mainland China is a valid transit from HK to Beijing to Singapore.
