I heard someone say actually there are problems for south africans who want to work in china. They will have to stay in quarantine for a month but for some reason this new law doesn't affect tourists. In addition, a South African working in China say he came in with no problem by applying for tourist (L) type entry permit and came in as a tourist, then he applied for work type entry permit within China. They have scanners at the airport to check physical appearance only.
