Princess, we can't say that the road was built or opened by a certain guy. Many people make their contributions to the opening of the road.

As we know, the road came into being in the Western Han Dynasty. In 140 BC, Zhangqian went to the Western Regions for the first time. He was sent by Emperor Wudi to ally with Great Yüeh-chin. The purpose was to defeat Huns. Unfortunately, he was captured by Huns. But he managed to escape. Honestly, he didn't accomplish his mission. But he got to know more about the Western Regions. Meanwhile, the countries in the Western Regions knew about Empire Han and Eastern Culture. Accidentally, a road connecting Central China and Western Regions was formed.
